Destination Wedding – The Hamptons

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links

 Hey y'all

The legendary Hamptons is a summer playground for many East-coasters. With its beachy glamour, opulent residences, crystal blue skies, and scents of the sea, the Hamptons are a coveted spot for a summer wedding.

So… What would you wear to a Hamptons Wedding? Well let’s talk about it. Most styles seen in this area for weddings seem to involve shades of blue or maxi dresses. The designs remind me of the beach. They exude modern coolness with crisp clean lines.

A Hamptons’ wedding fits my personal style easily. I consider myself to be a breezy, tropical kind of girl. The only drawback for me is that I feel like my style maybe a bit too beachy casual for a wedding. I hate going out to buy fancy clothes that I'm only going to wear once, but there is a company who has all of that covered for people like me and possibly you too.

The company is Rent The Runway. They offer a huge selection of clothing and accessories. They also offer a wide range of sizes from petite to plus. So there is definitely something for just about everyone.

Now back to this Hamptons’ Wedding...

These are my 3 favorite styles

Fennel Essential Oil #Review

Fennel essential oil is a galactogogue. This oil can play an important role for lactating mothers. It can increase the amount of milk in them by boosting production of a hormone called estrogen. This benefits the baby as well as the mother. This milk also inherits some of the carminative and digestive properties of fennel oil and protects the baby from flatulence, indigestion and gas, which are very common in infants.

Information from the company

  • 100% Pure, Organic Therapeutic Grade Fennel 10ml Essential Oil
  • Botanical Name: Foeniculum vulgare var. dulce
  • Comes in 10ml amber glass essential oil bottle. European Dropper Cap included
  • Fennel Essential Oil has a sweet earthy aroma similar to aniseed with hints of pepper.
More information can be found here.

For these reasons, I created a boobie butter. I combined the fennel oil with a combination of coconut oil and shea butter. I mixed 2 TBSP Shea butter and 2 TBSP coconut oil with 10 drops of Fennel Essential Oil. I started by whipping the shea butter and coconut oil together with my hand mixer. Then I gradually added the fennel oil to the base while continuing to whip it.

It has increased her milk supply as well as aided in preventing sore nipples.

It can be purchased here

Learning Success Review and Giveaway

Hey y'all.

I'm back with another review. This one is for the kiddos or even teachers. Business first then I'll tell you about it from my pint of view. By the way, it is called Learning Success.

Information from the company:
The learning success program is a simple do-at-home program that will show you how to find the core problems and overcome them. Learning is made up of basic core skills. There are 16 of them in all. Typical learning difficulties are small weaknesses in a combination of two or three of these skills. Helps overcome learning difficulties such as:
  • Dyslexia
  • Dyscalculia
  • Dysgraphia
  • ADD/ADHD
Each of these terms simply means that there is a weakness in two or more of these basic learning skills. But it doesn't define which. Once you get started in the course you'll quickly find the trouble spots. Once you do that your child will be on the path to learning success. You will learn simple exercises that strengthen the skills needed for successful learning. Modern scientific breakthroughs have discovered a number of methods for overcoming these problems. Once you do your child will actually enjoy homework.

The normal price for this course is $564

The course is delivered via email. You will receive emails each day with exercises you simply print out and do with your child. Takes approximately 15 - 20 minutes 3-5 days per week. Results are typically seen starting at about 3 months but can come earlier. Severe problems will take approximately 1 year to overcome. We will continue delivering exercises for one year or until you cancel.

My Review:

So first of all, this is an email based program. That is actually awesome for me, because we have a tendency of misplacing papers. It is a daily delivery system so you don't have to go searching for old emails. Another plus.

Z doesn't have any learning disabilities that we know of but I thought it would be good to help him get ahead. I must say he is progressing nicely. I could see this being very useful for a kiddo with a learning disability or even to help a teacher who works with those types of students.

Pop Goes Lullaby 4 Review - Soothe the savage beast!!!

Do you know what a 3 month old is like when they are sleepy but don't want to sleep? They can quite easily be described as Savage Beasts. Oh sure, they pretend to be all cute and cuddly. They are just trying to lull you into a false sense of security. As soon as you think it's safe and they're gonna sleep, they start screaming like banshees.

Well I confused this one and won the battle. What was my tactic you ask? Aha... She went to scream and I beat her to it. She did not seem amused by my screaming but then again I am never amused by hers. While she is quiet and confused is when I enact the second portion of this devious plan...soft music.

She got lucky this go round as we had some new music to test and review. It was Pop Goes Lullaby 4 by Jammy Jams. It seemed to keep her calm but not lull her to sleep. I figure she is just a tad difficult though. I'm sure you are wondering where do I find it, what is it, how much does it cost? Well I will answer all these questions after we get some basic information from the manufacturer.

Here is what they have to say:

Who’s got the coolest kid in the nursery? YOU do! Because you play your baby “Pop Goes Lullaby 4” to rock them to sleep every night. Jammy Jams’ latest release features lullaby renditions of pop songs currently in the charts. Hits by Meghan TrainorKaty PerryTaylor Swift, Sam Smith and more transformed into beautiful instrumental lullabies.

1. Cool Kids (Lullaby Rendition of Echosmith)
2. Shake it Off (Lullaby Rendition of Taylor Swift)
3. Don’t  (Lullaby Rendition of Ed Sherran)
4. All About That Bass (Lullaby Rendition of Meghan Trainor)
5. I’m Not The Only One (Lullaby Rendition of Sam Smith)
6. This is How We Do (Lullaby Rendition of Katy Perry)
7. Me Against The World (Lullaby Rendition of Erica Ashley)
8. Blame (Lullaby Rendition of Calvin Harris)
9. Fireball (Lullaby Rendition of Pitbull)
10. Rude (Lullaby Rendition of Magic!)

This album is available for consumers to purchase in the following formats:
CD, CD w/ Digital Copy, Album Download Card, Digital Download

This album is available in the Jammy Jams Store (www.jammyjams.net) as well as iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and many other retailers.

One of my personal favorites is the lullaby rendition of All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor. Baby A seemed to enjoy it as well. It had the ability to keep her super calm. I was hoping it would put her to sleep but I had no such luck with this collection of songs. This company actually offers a variety of mommy and daddy friendly lullaby instrumentals. Baby A and I ventured to a different CD. It eased her from calm to sleep without any Savage Beast antics.

Now let's answer those questions you asked.
  1. Where do I find it?
  1. What is it?
  • A collection of songs that have been rendered as lullabies.
  • Soothing instrumental versions of popular songs
  1. How much does it cost?
  • The price depends on which format you choose. Prices range from under $10 to just about $15.
All in All for Baby A, I would give it a 4 out of 5. She liked it but didn't sleep to it.

There is one on their website that received a 5 out of 5 from us. We couldn't just listen to one set of lullabies. The one Baby A liked most was Once Upon A Rhyme 2. There are lots of other options. So if this doesn't fit, keep listening and you will.

We want to thank Tomoson and Jammy Jams for allowing us to review and test this CD of lullabies.

I love the that they love each other so much.

    Writing with Z

    Hey guys.

Z and I have been offered the opportunity to test out a handwriting software. I am super excited about it, because I want him to be able to write legibly by the time Kindergrten starts in August. Woo Hoo!!!! From browsing the company's site, I can already tell this is going to work out pretty darn good.

Z is a total left hander. This makes it a bit more difficult for me because I'm right handed. This is another reason I am excited about the software. It takes some of the stress off me. We took it for a test run yesterday. Let me tell you, he got super pumped to see just his name on the sheet.

    A little about the product...
It is a downloadable software by StartWrite. You install it and it allows you to create your own personalized handwriting sheets. You can Download Demo here. It will allow you to test it for yourself.

Now to the final business at hand...
One lucky reader will win a full version of the software to test with Z and I. Enter below.

    Welcome 2015

    Hey y'all. Happy new year.

I know we've been in 2015 for 10 days, now. I'm finally getting a chance to get back to you all. Let's recap the last 10 or so days. New Year's Day was lackluster at best. We did the usual sit, eat, and watch television. Boring, I know. After that, we have made vegan cupcakes, enchiladas, and gumbo just to name a few things. Aside from all the cooking, z started back to school on Tuesday. Yay!!! Mommy's free during the days again. I'm preparing to start a healthier lifestyle so I have more energy and shed some unwanted pounds. I've also received lots of products to review during this change. I will tell you about them as I try them. I've also received a few cool items for giveaways. So stay tuned for those. That kinda sums up what's been going on around here.
